Yesterday afternoon we went to the 60th anniversary of Caro Amico, restaurant owned by friend Elsie. Elegant lady who mostly lives on Orcas Island. A sometimes fellow Italy traveler. However, no matter how elegant, Butch, the manager of the restaurant arranged this extravaganza in the parking lot complete with well known radio sports announcer airing his afteroon show on the upper porch....complete with the Calzone eating contest performed by four beautiful thin females. Gave photos of all but couldn't get in the right position to capture the essence of the eating contest.

Also, Elsie's children and grandchildren were there so of who I know from the Italian Villa trips. Scott, her son, owns two pizza places in Corvalis one of which Obama visited when he was compaigning. Angela, his wife who is an artist made a big collage of the event to hang on the walls.




Today is noon time opera at the Library, then the Italian conversation group and tonight the gourmet event at The Fox movie theatre prior to seeing the Julia Childs movie.



Saturday is the backyard wedding of Jennifer and Marcus (who we just met through Rosie) then the Pig Roast.

Sunday, down to wine country for a feast at Cana. Anticipate the details
